'Sob story' 말 그대로 '눈물나는 이야기'를 뜻하는데 주로 남의 동정심을 자아내기 위한 의도로 하는 이야기입니다.
A: I stumbled across this strange radio show when I was flipping the dials tonight.
B: You mean the one where everyone calls in with their sob stories ?
A: Yeah ! I was thinking about calling in and talking about how you got dumped !
B: Don't you dare ! Besides, I never listen to those kinds of shows.
A: You would if your story were on the show !
B: And I'd kill you afterwards.
A: 다이얼 돌리다가 한 이상한 라디오 프로그램을 들었어.
B: 사람들이 눈물나는 이야기로 전화하는 거 말하는 거구나.
A: 맞아. 나도 전화해서 니가 차인 이야기를 할까하는 생각이 들었어.
B: 어떻게 니가! 게다가 난 그런 쇼 안 듣는다니까.
A: 니 얘기가 쇼에 나온다면 들을 걸.
B: 그리고 널 죽이겠지 들은 후에.
